My name is Ashley Jataun Moore Ellis. I am an educator, artist, writer and workshop facilitator. I was born in Chicago, raised in Birmingham, taught in Washington, D.C, and am now a resident of the Atlanta Metro area. I have a heart and passion for using various forms of art to encourage, uplift and promote healing within others. I've been writing poetry since my youth. I began painting as a means of processing the happenings of life as well as to simply decompress after work. I found the composition of both poetry and art to be therapeutic and liberating. This evolved into facilitating workshops where I share the message behind my pieces and invite others to explore art as a safe place to reflect upon, articulate, and value the pieces of their own stories. My art primarily consists of acrylic on canvas; however, from time to time I also fuse charcoal and acrylic paint to compose pieces.
